Cyclocross

  • Junior Racing

    • Junior racing categories for cyclocross are for kids with an OBRA racing age of 9 or older. OBRA Racing age for cyclocross is defined as the child’s age on December 31st of the next calendar year. For example if a junior racer is 8 years old in 2023 but turns 9 before December 31st 2024 they may register as a Junior racer for a cyclocross event in 2023.

    • Junior categories range from 1 to 5. 5 is for juniors just starting out in the sport, and as kids become more skilled and experienced, they can upgrade (by accruing upgrade points or self-selecting) to more competitive categories.

    • Junior racers may share the course with other non-junior racers in similarly skilled categories.

  • Kids Racing

    • Kids category is children who are younger than 8 years old. These races are conducted on a modified course with features that are age appropriate for younger riders. We strive to allow kids to race as much of the regular course as is reasonable.

    • Kids category races are not conducted on a shared course, young riders and a lead bike are the only participants allowed on course during a kids race.

    • Kids races are free and registration is available the day of the event at the registration tent

  • Kiddie Cross

    • Kiddie cross is for very young riders 2-6 years old, or those that are very new to basic bike handling skills. These races are conducted on very short courses where they can be closely attended by a guardian.

    • Kiddie Cross is free and registration is available the day of the event at the registration tent
